New Rent to Buy homes are being delivered across Adelaide, with the first properties now complete and tenanted, and many more on the way.

The homes include a mix of townhouses and single-storey detached properties. While designs vary, each home is modern and affordable, supporting long-term renters to break the rental cycle and move towards home ownership.

The program gives renters the option to purchase their home after two years. During this time, they pay reduced rent, helping them save towards a deposit. The purchase price is locked in when the tenant signs their lease, protecting them from market increases while they save.

With demand for affordable housing remaining high, the program has expanded from an initial 125 homes to a further 2,000 homes, now delivered under the Rent to Own program.

This targeted housing solution supports South Australians looking to buy a home and helps ease pressure on the private rental market.
