The SA Housing Trust’s Vacancy Program is helping more South Australians move into safe, secure housing sooner by reducing turnaround times for vacant properties.

Donna* and her grandson recently benefitted from the Vacancy Program after relocating from their three‑bedroom home in Para Hills.

Donna lives with a severe medical condition and significant mobility issues, and the steep driveway and front steps at her former property increased her risk of falls.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Vacancy Program team, Donna has moved into a brand‑new, fully accessible, two‑bedroom Aboriginal Housing property in Paralowie. The home is much better suited to her needs, providing a safer and more comfortable place for both Donna and her grandson.
